heyo!!
yep i ve made my way up to kathmandu. it was a hell of a two day journey, but now im here and enjoy
it.
after 4 days in calcutta i pretty got used to the city. all these markets, the bargaining, the victoria monument,
st. patrics church, very good but rare restaurants, sudder street, breakfast in the blue sky bar, children sleeping in
the streets, beggars, hassling, weird indians, whole city without power for hours, whole city flooded (40cm water in
the streets) after 1h heavy rain, traffic jams, rats, second hand bookshops, interesting talks to indians about culture, tradition
and religion, and so many more things ... these are all the impressions i got in only 4 days and there is so much more
to experience ... not so many sights, but u have to become part of the city ... and thats probably the reason everybody
is saying that for calcutta u need time ... but im satisfied with that that i know this now hehe. so i headed on
up to patna by bus = 9 hours, quiet comftable. but then we had to take the bus from patna to the border (raxaul) - 8h - and
then on to kathmandu for another 9 hours ... and that was a hell of a trip. i mean, i thought i was used to going by bus in
these countries ... i mean ive been to laos and so ... i thought, but damn thats a different thing in india ... if u sit in
the front its close to suicide and if u re in the back, your head bumps every 10 minutes on the top of the roof, cause of
the really bad roads .... that was a ride .... the worst in my life till now, but u know ill be back hehe ...
yeah,
but now in kathmandu everything is just perfect. nice guesthouse, pretty cheap, i like the people, gorgeous view to the mountains,
lots of travellers and i hope some nightlife too ... i will figuere that out tonight. ill stay here for at least 5 days till
27th august and then head back to india varenassi ... ihope i spelled it right, but anyway ...
so gotta go now, my
friend is waiting and i got the key hehe .. c u mucki
