Niv, Juan-Pablo, Sam, Stephan, Nui, Hannah

Somewhere in Mexico in the year 2004 - the ICCC36 (International Conference on Coordination Chemistry) is taking place in a place called Merida, on the beautiful peninsula Yukatan. My mission there is to present my masterthesis, listen to intellectual presentations of the smartest guys all over the world, collect some more experience and get new ideas.

But there exists another mission in the back of my head: taking 3 weeks off and go crazy ....

This is when I met Stephan, Sam, Niv, Nui, Hannah and Juan-Pablo in Playa del Carmen and together we took off into a state of mind, where noone else could reach us anymore .... we were "La Vaca".

Everynight cuba libre on the rooftop, asado in the backyard, cheap cerveza at the beach and party all night long.

To prevent the party-burnout-syndrome we went down to Tulum for a few days to chill, but that didnt really work out and we ended up playing drinking games on the beach, doing the Wiener Schnitzel (skinnydipping into the sea, rolling in the sand and running to innocent Italians screaming: "I m a Weener Schnitzel !!"), ordering ice from the bar, dressed only with a hat, faking orgasm infront of someone else's tent (I think it was the Italians again ...), while changing our clothes whenever a cloud was passing the moon...

Back to Playa del Carmen and then further up to Isla Mujeres. Highlight of these three weeks was probably the whale shark diving there on Isla Mujeres.

Brilliant Conference vacation, Sam is now living with Niv in England, Juan-Pablo is still out there somewhere cruising around, Stephan getting ready for Canada, Hannah playing nurse and Nui still on the road to somewhere ....

Very good time, very good people, hope to see them soon.
