hello!
well i complained in cuenca, that i miss the action a bit ... i m definitely not complaining right now
... not after this week: ok, we ended up at the last night in cuenca in a club called pop art drinking loads of cocktails
... i lost kurt there somehow and went alone at 5 o clock to the busstation, where our bus to alausi was leaving ... still
no kurt, well in emergency we said, we gonna meet up in banos. well, so i took the bus to alausi, no sleep at all, just to
realize that the train i wanted to take (alausi - bucay -- should be a really cool ride on the roof of the train) didnt leave
on saturdays ...
so straight on to banos. checked in in a really fancy hotel, so with nice few, privat bathroom and all
the other shit ... and straight into the next cocktailbar.
met there two dutch guys and we ended up drinking till the barkeeper
ran out of liquor and fruits. so we had to leave for another bar/club/bamboos, where we stayed till the threw us out -- ended
up in another disko till 4 and then finally with a girl from lima on the search for beer and hot dogs.
well, to keep it short: we got mobbed from to locals with huge knives, couldnt actually do anything except giving them
the few bucks i had in my pocket, cause of the girl i was with, but it worked out quite fine -- they only wanted to make a
few easy bucks ... although i was pretty pissed off,
that it was that easy for them and also that i hadnt spend more money
on cocktails before, so they would have gotten less .... well but in the end we were just happy nothing more happened.
i found kurt laying in bed, when i finally came home to my hotel, and he told me his story: ended up with these norweigan
girls in their flat, had party there till sunrise, got then thrown out, was chased by an evil dog called nicole, had to jump
down from a 4 meter high fence to save himself from that evil dog and as he was not quite sober at that time he nearly
broke
his leg and is even today still limping.
so both of us had some wicked night .... well the next day, we werent actually able to do much, so we just ended up at
night again in that very cocktailbar.
after the third one, we got asked, if we would like to go on a motorbike ride to a vulcano and see him perhaps erupting
-- well, how could we say no to such a thing and minutes later we found ourselves on some scooters without light, no breakes,
on the edge of falling apart on some shitty road to some viewpoint with 10 other guys ... what a hell of a trip -- three girls
crashed into some rocks, 2 bikes were destroyed, we finally saw the vulcano for 30 minutes not erupting, but we all had shitloads
of fun! no, was a fucking good ride we took here hehe.
well, straight back in the cocktailbar, where we managed it again, that the barkeeper ran out of liquor. our final
goal was to go through the whole
menu and that definitely needed some training by 40 different cocktails. after that we
ended at an private party in one of the other travellers hotel and came back around 8 in the morning -- really started to
ask myself, why im fucking paying for my hotel at all, if i dont sleep in it at all ....
next day we had guinepig for lunch, the speciality of ecuador .... really funny way they cook it, although it didnt taste
that good. we went downhillbiking in the afternoon: good bikes, very fast, shitty road,
devils waterfalls and a hitchhike
back to banos. and straight to the cocktailbar again. at that time we were already 30 people, so we filled the bar completely.
i already knew the barkeeper, so we got offered, that we could stay till 7, but he had to close the bar at 2 -- so we ended
up all locked up in that bar till 7 a.m. --- fucking incredible: i dyed the hair of two guyes, we had an english one stripping
to the bitter end, we finally did the whole menu (myself drank 22 cocktails), fucking good atmosphere and we left loads of
millions sucre in that bar .... incredible night. well in the morning i had to catch a bus to tena to book the jungle tour
-- so without
sleep again straight on the bus .... aweful busride ... puked at the passportcontroll, they all looked kindof
strange at me hehe ... but finally arrived in tena, booked the tour for the next day (agency at the travellers lodge -- best
one in town !!) and waited for my friends to arrive in a cocktailbar .....
the jungletrip was definitely one of the highlights of this trip: incredible walks through the thick vegetation of
the jungle, rafting, caves full of bats,
climbed a huge waterfall, searched for gold, swam in an lovely laguna, learned
a lot about medicine plants and had loads of fun. really brilliant!!
after we came back from the jungle we had some last
cocktails in tena, before we left for quito --- well and here we are now, just arrived, checked in in the new part of town
(some kind of youth hostel called sun or sol ... a parallel road to the amazonas) and we dont have much money left, its weekend,
banks are closed and the nightlife should be brilliant ... that
means no good ...
anyway, gonna go for merienda now and then hit some bars .... shouldnt be difficult to find them here hehe ....
ciao
